Message from the president and CEO
The UAE has seen tremendous growth during the last decade, especially in the field of construction. The construction growth is not only restricted to Dubai and Abu Dhabi but is also seen in other parts of the Emirates such as Ajman, Rasal Khaima and Umm Al Quwain. Keeping up with the pace of growth, Dubai launched the Metro rail system in 2006, which is expected to be completed by 2008-2009, extended the current Dubai International Airport and has seen the opening of a new International Airport at Jebel Ali, as well as the building of Burj Dubai one of the tallest buildings in the world and the Palm Island. As a country, we are not only inspired to achieve the unachievable, but have set an example to others. It all began with the dreams and forethought of our wise leaders.
We all know that Dubai has now become an International business hub. Large Multinational Companies have set up their offices in Dubai and a sizeable number of International celebrities have invested in Dubai, especially in the Real Estate sector. Dubai has also seen a tremendous increase in tourism and the number of people visiting Dubai, which has been one of the reasons for the extension of the current airport and the construction of an International Airport at Jebel Ali. This has been possible because of a liberal business policy and intensive planning by Dubai rulers.
Al Habtoor Trading Enterprises began business in the late 1980's as a General Trading Company and has since diversified its business activities into Automobiles, Construction, Engineering & Project Management, Electro Mechanical, Financial Services, Information Technology, Building Materials, Travel & Tourism and have recently added a Real Estate company to its portfolio. HTE today operates in Azerbaijan, Syria, Beirut and also has an office in Toronto with dealers in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and other CIS Countries. HTE strives to keep apace with the growth the UAE has achieved during the last decade.
Our goal for the future is to continue our expansion and diversification efforts, with renewed dynamism and continued commitment to develop, expand and create new opportunities for ourselves and for our partners.
I am proud to present this brochure, which provides an overview of our operations, our successes in the past and our goals for the future.
